INCLINE VILLAGE FIREWORKS CANCELLED | PRESS CONFERENCE STATEMENT
INCLINE VILLAGE, NV – As many of you are aware, the Incline Village Fourth of July fireworks display has been cancelled following a weather-related incident involving the fireworks barge earlier today. The barge partially sank prior to the scheduled launch.
Fortunately, all fireworks located on the remaining above-water portion of the barge were safely removed before the vessel fully capsized.
At this time, there is no threat to public safety. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office remains in close coordination with the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, the Incline Village General Improvement District, and other partner agencies.
Incline Fireworks, the event organizer, has been fully briefed and is actively working with private salvage partners to recover and properly dispose of the remaining materials.
We recognize that this cancellation is disappointing to residents and visitors who were looking forward to the celebration. We sincerely appreciate the community’s understanding and continued support as we prioritize public safety and environmental responsibility.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
