Defensible Space Inspections & Chipping Requests Open May 4

The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) will open scheduling for Defensible Space Inspections and Chipping Requests beginning Monday, May 4, 2026.

These services are a key part of our community’s wildfire preparedness efforts. Creating and maintaining defensible space around your home helps reduce wildfire risk, improve firefighter access, and increase the likelihood of structure survivability during a fire.

Residents are encouraged to schedule early as availability fills quickly ahead of fire season.
